Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of StoryLens, a software product provided by Console One Inc (“Console One,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), an Ontario corporation. By installing, accessing, or using StoryLens — including the desktop application, web dashboard, and any related services (collectively, the “Service”) — you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The StoryLens desktop client is also separately available as open source software under the Apache License 2.0. These Terms govern your use of the Service. The Apache 2.0 license governs your rights to use, modify, and distribute the desktop client source code.

1. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

For paid tiers, you may need to create an account and provide accurate, current information. You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity under your account.

2. Subscription Plans and Billing

StoryLens offers tiered plans (Individual, Team, Enterprise) as described on our pricing page. Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis through our payment processor, Paddle.com Market Limited (“Paddle”), which acts as the Merchant of Record for all transactions. By subscribing, you authorize Paddle to charge your payment method for the applicable fee plus any applicable taxes.

Your purchase is also subject to Paddle’s Buyer Terms, available at paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms.

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. Prices may change with notice; new pricing applies at your next renewal.

3. Individual Tier and Beta Access

We may offer the Individual tier (free of charge), free trials, or beta access. Beta features are provided “as is” and may change or be discontinued without notice. The Individual tier is subject to usage limits described on the pricing page and may be modified at any time.

4. Cancellation and Termination

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you retain access through that period unless we terminate the Service for cause.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, fail to pay, or use the Service in ways that may cause harm.

5. Refunds

Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Service
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except where permitted by applicable law or open source licenses
• Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization
• Use the Service to process data you do not have rights to access
• Transmit malware, conduct phishing, or otherwise harm other users
• Use the Service to benchmark, build, or train competing products or AI models
• Access the Service through automated means beyond documented APIs

7. Your Data

You retain ownership of all data you connect to or generate through the Service (“Customer Data”). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process Customer Data solely to provide and improve the Service.

For Individual tier usage, Customer Data remains on your device. For paid tiers with shared channels and live event ingestion, Customer Data is processed on our infrastructure as described in the Privacy Policy.

Upon termination of your account, we will delete Customer Data from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing privacy@storylens.one.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including all software, designs, content, and trademarks, is owned by Console One Inc and its licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service in accordance with these Terms.

The StoryLens desktop client is licensed under the Apache License 2.0 and may include additional open source components governed by their respective licenses.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service connects to third-party tools (e.g., GitHub, Slack, Notion, OpenAI, Anthropic) at your direction. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for the availability or content of third-party services.

10. AI-Generated Outputs and Agent Actions

The Service uses AI models to generate outputs and may execute actions on your behalf through agents you authorize, including reading and writing files, sending messages, and modifying systems you connect.

You are solely responsible for reviewing all AI-generated outputs and agent actions before relying on them or allowing them to affect your systems, code, communications, or business operations. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of any AI-generated output or agent action. You are responsible for the consequences of any action taken by an agent you authorize.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Service Level Agreements (SLAs), if any, are governed by separate agreements for Enterprise customers.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CONSOLE ONE INC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $100.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Console One Inc harmless from any claims arising from your use of the Service, your Customer Data, or your violation of these Terms.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in Toronto, Ontario, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Service, or by posting prominent notice in the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
